Privacy
What we collect, why, and how to get it removed. We keep it short because there isn't much to it.
Who we are
Recession Dashboard tracks economic indicators and explains what they mean in plain English. The site is operated from the United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected] about anything on this page.
The newsletter
If you subscribe to our updates, we collect your email address. We ask you to tick a box to confirm you want them, so the only thing we hold is an email address you chose to give us. The lawful basis is your consent.
We use your email for one thing: to send you the recession indicator updates you signed up for. We will not sell it, share it, or use it for anything else. Every email we send will have a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at [email protected] to be removed at any time.
Signups are stored in our own newsletter system, which runs on a server hosted in the European Union. We keep your address only for as long as you stay subscribed. When we start sending the newsletter, the emails are delivered through a third-party email provider; we will name it here at that point.
Cookies and tracking
We do not set tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics that profile you. The site is a set of static pages with data pulled from public sources. The economic data shown is sourced from the FRED API and other public datasets.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
- We do not require an account, and there is no login.
- We do not add you to the newsletter unless you ask to be added.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
